Wehrmacht infantry test shots

I personally believe that pictures and all kind of eye candy is very important for a good blog. Because of that I bought a photo tent, since the sun is of no use to me in this season. These are the first test shots of my Wehrmacht infantry I painted some years ago. I added highlights and more grass, which looks better on the tabletop. I am quite satisfied with the pictures, but what do you think?

  1. They turned out very nice and the tent seems to be wort it's money. The pics are great.
These chaps are the old 1:72 Revells, aren't they?

    1. Some are Revell, some look to be ESCI.

    2. James is right, it is a mixture of ESCI (made by Italeri) and the Revell German Armoured Infantry. I like both sets - the ESCI one has more details, but the one from Revell is more dynamic in poses.

  2. What grass are you using for your bases? I am in the process of changing how I base my men. Also worth noting: You may have awoken in me a need to get a portable photo tent!

    1. I am using normal static grass and grass tufts from MiniNatur. The latter are quite expensive, but worth the money. They are easy to apply und look just great.
The photo tent I bought was this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Photo-Tent-Photostudio-Light-Background/dp/B009OANG0I/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1385852581&sr=8-14&keywords=Lightfox . Altough mine was cheaper. The lamps included are not so good, but my main light source is my daylight lamp I use for painting.

    3. Your daylight lamp for painting, do you really feel like it is sufficient to provide light? I don't want to buy those lamps for them to be redundant, as I have a good daylight lamp.

    4. Oh, I have no special lamp for painting, only one from IKEA with a daylight bulb (expenive) I bought in a hardware store. Works fine.
